Last year the House Finches broke the Hummingbird feeder and thats' why its on the balcony wall.
The Hummingbird were scared off by the other birds.I saw 2 Hummingbirds last year.
I am going on the defense this year.
How to keep House Finches away from Hummingbird feeder?
1. Used Hummingbird feeders wih out perches or big bases.
2. Hang one feeder close to a window to scare the House Finches.
3. Put up more Hummingbird feeders.
4. Teach the neighborhood squirrels to chase the House Finches.

Love watching the birds outside the kitchen window. We have year round cardinals, gold finches, a few blue jays in the Spring. But, all year round we have the cardinals which are my favorites. Happy Bird watching! Ysenda
ReplyDeleteThe birds I see outside my window are Lesser Goldfinches, Hose Finches, House Sparrows and Black Phoebes. In the spring time I have Anna's Humming bird and Roufus Humming bird.
