December 11,2015 I have new neighbors that moved in above me. They are loud and smoke a lot on their balcony. For two weeks I did not see any birds. I feared that these new neighbors had scared off the birds. Today, 16 Lesser Gold Finches, 17 House Finches and 17 House Sparrows. I have only seen 1 Black Phoebe. I think today the birds came to have fun and say, "hello." I think the birds have come back. I think they had left during those two weeks because it was cold.
Project Feeder Watch 2015-2016 During the winter bird watchers are invited to participate in Project Feeder Watch. Participants are invited to count birds that come to the feeders that are put out for them during the winter. Feeder Watchers count birds from November to April. Feeder Watchers watch the birds as much or as little over a two day period. Anyone who loves birds can participate in this project. It will be fun. Please come and join me this year.
